Patti Mara's passion is helping people find the right perspective – which in turn helps them generate extraordinary profits. Patti is an expert on perspective – she's spent nearly 20 years helping companies and individuals take a fresh look at the way they operate. This unique insight helps them to reach their full potential: enhancing customer experiences and dramatically increasing customer retention, growth, and profit!

Generating Results
Patti has been an entrepreneur since her days at the University of Guelph, when she first pitched a proposal for a T-shirt business to a panel of bankers and lawyers, and won their approval for a student venture loan. While at University, she also worked at a small, chain bookstore that excelled at customer service – and more than doubled its gross revenue quota! "The experience at the bookstore stayed with me," says Patti. "Customers want to shop at a place where they feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of – and the results followed!"

After graduation, Patti found she had a talent for training and went on to become a leadership and business coach, working with success-building enterprises such as Joe Polish's Platinum Plus Program, Ken Glickman's iPower Program, and The Strategic Coach Program.

As a coach, Patti has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs to dramatically increase their revenue, life balance, and company growth. She is also a popular speaker in a variety of industries and organizations such as financial services, Women's Congress, commercial real estate, Entrepreneur's Organization (EO), restoration and cleaning professionals, restaurant owners and independent pharmacy owners.

Taking a Customer-Centered Approach
Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about her approach: "Your business is not your product or service – it's what you DO to sell your product or service, what differentiates you, creates value in your marketplace, and generates profit in your company," says Patti. "It's about using the customer experience to shift your company's business model to take advantage of the marketplace changes and pressures."

"It sounds simple — but for most people it's not easy," she continues. "I give them an experience of that shift in thinking and help them develop skills so they can do it with ease: identify who their customers are, look at their business from the customers' perspective, and increase communication. It's truly the most important market research, but most business owners miss it."

Patti took the process she created and established Maranet Inc. and The Profit Generator Program, which enables entrepreneurs to produce amazing results and increase their profits. "It takes a lot of money to attract new customers, so most businesses pay attention to advertising, marketing, and new customer acquisition – but most business owners miss focusing on customer retention and revenue per customer," Patti notes. In addition, Patti created the Breaking Through Barriers program, which helps business owners identify bottlenecks, discover what's behind or driving them, and break through these barriers to the achieve the next level of growth and success.

Learning from Example
"I actually use the tools in my own business to produce results, so I have real examples to share with people," says Patti. "When you're facing challenges, I can relate because I've been there – and I can show you how to identify the obstacles, overcome them, and move on to the next level."

One example was when a company brought Patti on board as a consultant and she created a process to help shift the company's focus from selling customers a product to selling them a solution. This new focus led to a 20 percent increase in revenue and doubling profits in the first year, as well as receiving recognition as one of Canada's 50 best-managed companies — results they credit to their work with Patti.

Patti also likes to overcome hurdles in her free time – her favorite pastime is horseback riding! Patti owns a Holsteiner gelding named Pepper and often spends her weekends riding.She likes to inspire the next generation and all five of her nieces ride with her. "One of my immeasurable joys in life!" she says.
